— Questions and Answers —

Q: I am thinking to get my first tattoo, do I need an in-person consultation first? Do you offer zoom consultation?

A: Most of the time we don’t need a consultation, just email me with all the information I need, if I feel we should have a consultation, I will definitely schedule one with you. It’s free and it usually takes about 20 minutes. I don’t really do zoom calls.

A: I don’t charge a deposit for making an appointment, if you would like to cancel the appointment, please RESPECT me and my time and let me know at least 48 hours ahead. If you cancel and reschedule for the third time, $100 deposit (nonrefundable) is needed. No call no show is not cool at all.

A: Most likely not, I usually schedule the right amount of time to do what you tell me in the first place.

A: No, you can just come in at your appointment time. Sometimes I am not at the studio if you are here earlier. You don’t need to knock on the door or ring the doorbell, just walk in please.

Q: Do you use numbing cream?

A: You can bring one friend/family member with you for the appointment. You don’t need to wear a face mask for the appointment.

Q: What should I wear for my appointment?

A: Please wear something easy to show the tattoo area, darker color clothing is better because it may get ink on it.

A: I offer free touch-ups in the first 3 months. If you would like to schedule a touch-ups appointment, please email me a photo of the healed tattoo.

Q: How soon can I workout, go swimming, be under the sun after getting my tattoo?

A: Please treat your tattoo as an open wound, you wouldn't want sweats sitting on top of an open wound, or get it soaked in water, or get it sunburned. Please see the Aftercare section below for more details.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Remove the wrap after 2-4 hours, wash the tattoo with warm water, pat dry. Do not rebandage the tattoo. Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor, or unscented, alcohol-free lotion, at least 2 times a day, after a wash or when the tattoo is feeling dry, until the tattoo is fully healed (up to 4 weeks). Do not use cleaning solutions such as alcohol or highly scented soaps, as these will irritate your tattoo wound. During healing do not saturate your new tattoo in any pool, lake, hot tub, or bathtub. Do not allow the tattoo to come into contact with animals or another person’s bodily fluids.

Expect peeling and slight itching during the healing process. Do not pick or peel at any flaking skin or scabbing. Go easy on workouts. Don’t expose the new tattoo to the sun. Using sunscreen after the healing process is complete will help hold the coloration longer. Infections are rare, but they can happen. Consult a healthcare provider for the following symptoms: unexpected redness, tenderness, or swelling at the site of the body art procedure, any rash, unexpected drainage at or from the site of the body art, or any fever within 24-48 hours of the tattoo procedure.

PIERCING AFTERCARE

Always wash your hands before you clean or handle your piercing or jewelry. Use sterile saline solution, 2-3 times daily. Spray directly onto the piercing, or spray onto a Q-Tip to remove dried discharge. Do not touch or rotate your jewelry, especially while it is healing, unless you are cleaning it. Do not use Isopropyl (rubbing) Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic ointment, or soap (unless advised). These items can be harmful to your new piercing. Do not saturate your new piercing in any pool, lake, hot tub, or bathtub during the healing process.

Sleeping on your new piercing can cause irritation, swelling, and potentially impact the position during the healing process. Do not let your new piercing come in contact with animals, other people, or their bodily fluids. Infections are rare, but they can happen. Consult a healthcare provider for the following symptoms: unexpected redness, tenderness, or swelling at the site of the piercing, any rash, unexpected drainage at or from the site of the piercing, or any fever within 24 to 48 hours of the piercing procedure.
